Planing A Trip? 8 Tell Tale Signs That A Hotel Is Amazing!

As you guys already know, I am a massive fan of travel. From Tokyo to the US, I have done my fair share of globe-trotting. That is why I know a thing or two about what makes a hotel amazing. Whenever I go away, I try to stay somewhere that I know I will love. Of course, it is not always easy finding a hotel that suits you, but you at least have to try. No matter what your budget is, there are a few things you should look for in a hotel. If you plan on going on holiday soon, take a look at this list and make sure that your hotel fits the bill!

  1. The staff members are warm and friendly

You can tell a whole lot about a hotel from the staff there. If a company is legitimate, you will find that they train their staff to the highest of standards. When you walk into the hotel, it is customary for the reception staff to greet you warmly. If they don’t say a word to you, you might as well switch hotels right away. Before you book a hotel, you should look at reviews online. Pay close attention to what people have said about the staff because if the employees  are awful so is the hotel.

  1. There are chocolates on your pillow

Sometimes, it is all the little extras that make a hotel fabulous. If you want to enjoy your stay, you need people to treat you like royalty. Having a mint or chocolate (or mint chocolate!) on your pillow in the morning is the height of luxury. When you stay in a hotel that offers this service, you know that they go above and beyond to look after their guests. Few hotels leave you little gifts on your pillow these days, which is an utter shame.

  1. There is a (free) minibar

Most modern hotel rooms tend to have a minibar, but the majority of them will charge you a small fortune for the things inside it. When you find a hotel that has a free minibar in its rooms, you know that it is a hotel you will adore. Again, this extra is one of those little things that will make your stay pleasant. Before you book, you can find out what each room includes. Usually, hotels list all the things included in the cost. That way, you can decide whether the room is worth it or not.

  1. The sheets are clean and pressed

When you first walk into your hotel room, you want it to impress you. That means that the bed sheets should be clean and pressed. If the sheets are all crinkly, you should not expect great things from your stay. In high-end places, they tend to teach their staff the fine art of making a bed. If the staff members have done it right, it will look amazing.

  1. There is entertainment on site

Sometimes, when you are on holiday, you will want to go out and explore. Other times, you will just want to chill at the hotel and watch some great entertainment. If the hotel you choose does not have any on site shows, you will never get a chance to enjoy it. You can check whether there is any entertainment before you book your room. Much of the time, hotels publish their listings online. That means that you can check them out before you go.

  1. The restaurant is high-end

If you plan on eating at your hotel, you need to make sure that the restaurant is up to scratch. These days you can get some glorious table linens for hotels. That means that the staff at your hotel have no excuse. If the tables look attractive, you can be sure that the food will be great too. Think about it – if the waiters have bothered to make the settings look right, they will care a lot about the food as well. Again, you can look at reviews online before you book. You should be particularly careful if you book a full or half-board package.

  1. There is an information board

When you are at your hotel, you want to make sure that you always have things to do. Some hotels tend to have boards, where you can find loads of information about excursions and trips. If you go on loads of little day trips, you will find that you meet fellow tourists. This tip is an excellent way to meet new people while you are on your travels. When you get to your hotel, ask at reception and see what information they have. Your receptionist should direct you to the information board, where you can find everything you need.

  1. The hotel has quirky little features

If you book an independent hotel, rather than a mainstream one, you will find that it has loads of little features. Most chain hotels tend to look the same as one another. They don’t tend to take any risks when it comes to interior design, which is why they all end up looking bland and boring. Look online and see whether you can find any family-run businesses or indie hotels. If you find an original place, you will see the decor itself is something of an attraction. For example, you might find that the place has traditional stained glass windows or an interesting balcony.

When you spend money on a holiday, you want to make sure that it is one you can enjoy. Finding the best hotel out there is the perfect way to make sure that your stay is incredible. Remember, you should never have to settle for second best. When you plan a trip, treat yourself to the greatest things so that you have a fantastic time. After all, you deserve it.

What do you guys think of my list? Is there anything you would add to it? Let me know! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
